Just as the driver is painted from the front and side view on the windows of a 1950's era tin toy car, this series explores the area between painting and form. The history of painting and mark making is at play, but is countered with the awareness of seeing around the painting to the back. Painted areas are sanded smooth, emphasizing paintings illusionism. The physicality of the wood contrasts with the apparent depth and atmosphere of the paint.
